Japanese have used this vegetable for weight loss
Sonia Jones ND This radish is also known as diakon, it looks like an albino carrot, though a bit fatter, and like the carrot it is a tap root with a thin skin.
In Asia it is known to help obesity, helps the bowels to function better and encourages the detoxification process. The radish is in general very nutritious, being rich in vitamins A, B, C, D, E, calcium and iron. It contains enzymes that help the digestion process.
It has been observed that eating white radish regularly can help with weight-loss, as it is thought to generally enhance the metabolism, contains diuretics, cleanse the blood, promotes energy and better circulation.
Though this vegetable can be cooked, it is better to eat the white radish raw, shredded into a salad, this way it’s enzymes remain in tact.
For a salad – grate the radish coarsely, peel a cucumber, slice it length ways through the middle and remove the seeds, slice the two halves finely. Peel and slice a mango or if they are not in season use some other sort of fruit like pairs. Peel and slice them. Add your own dressing.
